The average person hasn't heard of MIT.

Disagree. How many times has MIT been referenced in movies? Basically, if there is any engineer or scientist in a movie, the writers usually choose MIT as their educational background (sometimes it's Caltech, but usually it's MIT). I mean, who hasn't seen Good Will Hunting?

What Stanford's new admission director is gunning for with an emphasis on international recruiting: HSY worldwide. (Scroll down the link a bit.)

svalbardlutefisk,

Like I said, in my area people don't know its a top school, and I acknowledged its easily one of the best.

I can't be faulted for the people in my area...lol. In fact, I didn't know much about Stanford until looking at US News.

I'm going to have to throw up a big DGAF on this one

I don't think it really matters. I mean, seriously, it's just an abbreviation.

PSYCH

Perfect. Just replace MIT with CIT , basically the same thing

I'm from the West coast, and most of my teachers think that Yale is more prestigious than Stanford. It depends on the person I guess.

Stanford for Psychology, and some engineering. Stanford has some engineering programs that are better than some of MITs.

Oh, and just to throw it out there, but stanford is more prestigious on the west coast, than yale and princeton.

you guys are goons. i mean, c'mon. arguing over which school is more prestigious??!!??

westcoast kid:: stanford is better know than YP. blahblahblahblah.

eastcoast kid:: no, YP is better, and everyone knows about it. blahblahblah
