why's my GPA 3.667?

<p>so i looked up bearfacts, and only 2 of 4 classes I took this semester (freshman) are in, and they're both NP classes. So I should have 0 or n/a for UC gpa. But instead it's 3.667. The only other class I have (other than my ap credits) is a CS class I took at UCI before college, and that was a A-. I thought A- were 3.7?</p>

<p>Do non-Berkeley classes count towards GPA? I’m not sure. I got a B in a poli sci class at a CC during high school, and looking at an unofficial transcript that doesn’t count this semester, I have a 0.0 GPA. Where did you get that number?</p>

<p>My school does 3.667 for A- and 3.333 for B+. It makes the intervals more even (1/3 point between each grade).</p>

<p>how do you guys check your gpa? I saw mine in bearfacts under Academic Record, in the All Grades tab. </p>

<p>Could it be that Berkeley decreased the gpa from UCI? In other words, Berkeley thinks UCI A- is worth 3.667? (A- at UCI is 3.75)</p>

<p>UCI is on a quarter system. They have a conversion factor they use, thus ur gpa is a 3.66 and not a 3.7.</p>

<p>This semester’s grades don’t count into your GPA until a day or so before it shows up on your actual transcript.</p>

Grades submitted electronically for Fall 2009 are available for viewing under Current Term Grades on Bear Facts 24 hours
after submission by instructors. Grades are updated once daily at 8am.
Transcripts with Fall 2009 grades will be available for release on January 15, 2010.
Before ordering a transcript, please review your unofficial transcript for accuracy. </p>

<p>Therefore, unofficial transcript should have updated GPAs around Jan 15… probably a couple days earlier.</p>

<p>Telebears probably does automatic waitlists every weekend. As for manual, who knows… some professors are submitting grades for fall classes, so some (really excited or bored) professors may be doing the manual waitlists.</p>
