My daughter does not drink and doesn't really find it appealing (not for religious reasons--she just isn't a party-girl type). I'm concerned about the party school reputation that C of C has....frankly, I think this is going to be an issue no matter where she goes. Can any non-drinking students or parents of students chime in on the activities available to non-drinkers at C of C??

I’m a student at CofC and I’m not a partier, either. She’ll be fine. The students here are very diverse, and I have a group of friends who also don’t enjoy drinking. We’re fine just getting dinner and watching a movie in the dorm on Friday nights. It won’t take long for her to make friends! There are different clubs she can join based on her interests. The list is available at the school’s website. I’m a part of Campus Outreach, and this is a club that meets Wednesday nights and hosts activities and retreats throughout the year, without the drunkenness! The school also emails the students every week with a list of school events that are coming up, and that includes anything from athletics to those lame school-sponsored parties where they bribe you with food Either way, she’ll love it here, and welcome to the CofC family! :)

Thanks so much for the info–nice to know she’ll be able to find like-minded friends on campus!
