I'm really interested in Rollins and I've heard a lot of great things about it, but the whole cocaine post kind of worried me. I know drugs are at every college, but the fact that this is talking about Rollins and the cocaine problem just bothered me. Will I or my friends (who were worried about the same thing) be overwhelmed by all the drug use? :/

It's not THAT prevalent. I'd say maybe 10 percent of the student body has ever done it and maybe 5 or so do it on a regular basis. They tend to stick together, and you probably won't meet them unless you want to do coke. And chances are, if one of your friends is doing coke, you won't know about it.

People DO it, but like I've said before, you don't see people running around with powdery noses.

What IS a lot more widespread is drinking (you can find people who don't do that also...) and prescription drug usage. During finals week tons of kids were on adderall If that bothers you you will meet a lot of people who do it...

Marijuana is hit or miss... You'll know the kids who do it. If you want to do it, you can find a way. If not, it won't impede on you (usually... someone lit up a giant doobie on the last night of finals week and stunk up our whole hall. I thought it was funny, maybe you wouldn't find it so laughable...)

As long as you are decided that you don't want to be involved in drugs, drugs will stay away from you.

S is a freshman at Rollins. He says he doesn't know anyone who uses cocaine. He also says lots of students drink. S doesn't drink, and doesn't party, and still loves Rollins, has plenty of friends, and is involved in many campus activities.
