will any1 accept?

My friend got a SAT score of 1270 and wanted to know if he stands a chance in any BS/MD program. He is a senior currently and told me that he cant take it again.

Please let me know.
Thank You.

o..and he's also in the top 3% of his graduating class..but itz just his SAT scores that are bothering him

1270 CR/M or CR/M/W?

1270 CR/M
his CR/M/W is 1880

its gonna be tough...is he a URM? there are some programs that will take those scores for underrepresented minorities...but most programs are looking for scores upwards of 1350, and many have a 1400 cutoff.

hmmm...im not sure if hez a URM

"hmmm...im not sure if hez a URM"

lol, is he a puerto-rican american, mexican american, or african american

sad, people dont even know what a minority is nowadays

so youre saying that anyone who has lower than a 1350 has no chance at a Bs/MD program? (1280 for me and im not URM)

excuse me "matrixrebloated"..i knw exactly who a minority is nowadays..

hez from Southern INdia...but like i knw another one of my close friendz, who is SOuthern INdian, and she applied to Sophie Davis..(had excellent stats)..but didnt make it in..

now Sophie Davis is mostly for minorities...but not every Indian getz in..so im really not sure

thatz wht i meant when i said.."hmmm...im not sure if hez a URM"..like it really dependz

p.s. srry if i sounded rude but i dont like ppl telling me stuff thatz not true

Uh... by no stretch of the imagination would an Asian Indian ever qualify as a URM.

haha...asians or indians...? forget about it....in fact, if yer indian, you prolly need even higher stats to be considered competitive for these programs because so many of us apply....kinda sucks...but yeah...

dumbstruck: unfortunately, you'd be disqualified at programs like penn state (they want a minimum of a 1450 i think), nu, boston, nj programs, brown, miami, etc....but there's a possibility that if you have other excellent stats, you could still be considered a strong applicant for other programs...im not sure how stringent some of em are in their policy, but the lowest i've seen at a minimum has been drexel at a 1360...

yea...but many Indians still do get into schools for minority students..like Sophie Davis..in fact couple of my sisterz friendz did

but, in general, he doesnt really hav a chance..i guess...for BS/MD programs..if hez not URM...right?

o srry PipingHotTofu, I just read ur post now..when i was posting, it wasnt there..but yea i guez it would def be harder for him

there's a 1240 cut off i believe at temple or uconn

"thatz wht i meant when i said.."hmmm...im not sure if hez a URM"..like it really dependz

p.s. srry if i sounded rude but i dont like ppl telling me stuff thatz not true"

WOW

Underrepresented minority students are defined as U.S. citizens who are African American, Hispanic American, and Native American. They do not include Asian Americans.

Its actually a defined term by the AAMC and several other organizations

Sorry, but I love playing on other people's ignorance

does temple have a BS/MD program?

yes to the temple question

"hez from Southern INdia...but like i knw another one of my close friendz, who is SOuthern INdian, and she applied to Sophie Davis..(had excellent stats)..but didnt make it in..

now Sophie Davis is mostly for minorities...but not every Indian getz in..so im really not sure

thatz wht i meant when i said.."hmmm...im not sure if hez a URM"..like it really dependz

p.s. srry if i sounded rude but i dont like ppl telling me stuff thatz not true"

wow. i guess you really didn't know what a URM is nowadays.

you shouldnt like yourself too much since you're being untrue to yourself.

anyone have a link for the temple BS/MD? (i cant find it online)

ok "matrixrebloated" and "sothereis"...i knew that africans and hispanicz were considered URM..but i wasnt sure abt Indians

thnk u for clearing up my confusion
