Will being a first-gen student be a hook in admissions?

I will the first student in my family to attend college which I heard is a hook I’m just wondering how much it will impact my chance at Dartmouth and other top schools. I understand low-income is not a hook but I thought it was something worth mentioning since I come from a single income household around 24k. And we receive no child support.
If you have any questions let me know?

Both first gen and low income will help you get noticed for a reserved spot. Roughly 17 - 21% of a freshman class at ivies and elites are earmarked for first gen. Low income might qualify you for Questbridge app where some top notch colleges including many ivies reserve seats or at least prioritize some seats for low income applicants.

Thank you for confirming!
