Will chance back - chances for a low(ish) GPA with high(ish) test scores?(Colby, etc)

<p>-After School Orchestra 2nd violin first chair (10,11)</p>

<p>-Project Venue President (a music organization for youth in my home town; I put a lot of time into this, and am very passionate about it) (10,11,12)</p>

<p>-Employed at the local library - 7-15 hours/wk since sophomore year (10,11,12)
-Animal Rights Club Officer (10,11)</p>

<p>-Open Music club founder - a chance to play music for students with not enough formal training to play in an official school band/orchestra. (9,10,11,12)</p>

<p>-SKpades - I did sound for a pageant in 11th grade - intensive 4 week experience.
-I also won the battle of the bands at my school</p>

<p>Oh, yeah, does making a mandolin count as a hook? (probably not) What about only having one parent going to college? (again, I'm guessing not)</p>

<p>The schools are the more selective ones I'm applying to.</p>

<p>Vassar, Hamilton, Colby, Macalester.</p>

<p>Altogether I think you have a very good chance at getting into good schools; your academics and extracurriculars are commendable. However I know nothing of the particular schools you mentioned so I can only say you should have at least a decent chance in even top schools!</p>

<p>Your stats seem competitive for all of the schools on your list. Your ECs are pretty good. Getting into some of these will come down to your recs and essays, but I expect you will get into at least one of the more selective colleges on your list.</p>

<p>Great SAT Is and IIs. Many of those liberal arts schools emphasize the CR score.</p>
