Will chance back - chances/schools for 3.99 gpa, 2240 sat

Hi!
Hi! I am currently a junior.
SAT: 2240 (690 math, 790 writing, 760 reading)
Not sure on PSAT yet, because my school is lazy.
I took the ACT and will get results in a few days...
GPA: 3.99 UW, unsure weighted bc my school doesn't weight
But Ive taken all honors, and did AP euro last year (5 on exam)
I'm taking AP Chem, AP English, AP French, and AP CALC ab this year (hopefully all 5s or at least 4s)
And I'm doing 3 or 4 APs next year

Extra curriculars:
I'm really into art (drawing, painting, and poetry, for fun), and have taken lessons - I am trying to find competitions but it is difficult in my area.
I am a published author of a children's book.
I created a book drive for the YWCA that gathered over 1000 books
I did a selective journalism program in the summer at University of Washington
Also did a selective film program there the year before which I won a scholarship for
I took a college class at a local college in anthropology and got an a A in the class
I had a summer job
I volunteered at a 3 week summer arts camp for underprivileged youth (really fun!$
I also volunteered at a hospital (I used to want to be a doctor)
Now I volunteer at providence Marianwood and massage the elderly's hands and talk with them (it sounds weird, but it's really helped me come out of my shell)
I'm in NHS and interact (rotary club, and I will be president or VP of the club next year)
I dance (lyrical) and play music (mandolin,(guitar) with a band of friends - two things I'm probably most passionate about. I also volunteer at a music venue nearby
I'm also going to do a summer program in France (through Tufts or AUP), hopefully!

In college: I'd like to do international relations or public health

I'm looking at colleges like Carleton, Vassar, and Reed (LACs), but also UChicago, Emory, and Vanderbilt... basically I'm really not sure.

Do I have a chance at these schools? ALso: What colleges would be a good match for my interests and demonstrated ability?

THANK YOU! I will chance you back/comment on your threads if you respond:)

Your stats are awesome! Although nobody is a “shoe in” at any top schools, I would be shocked if you did not get into at least one of your choices. Congrats!

I think the “vibe” at UChicago is different from that of Vanderbilt, and vice-versa. Both schools are great to aim for just based on grades, etc. But make sure you have an idea of where you’d be happiest, along with some great safeties.

For chances, Chicago is a reach for everyone; it’s just so competitive. Demonstrate a focus and write really good essays. Vanderbilt is probably a high match; keep up the good work. From what I understand, Emory is a tad less selective than the other two; I’d call it a match. I’m not too familiar with LACs, but I would assume they’re all pretty self-selected, if you know what I mean - people who really want to be there (and present themselves as such) have the best chances, in my opinion.

Chance me back, please!

Cool, thanks for all the information!

I’d take the SAT one more time and focus super heavily on math, so you can get a really good superscore. That’ll raise your chances by quite a bit (I think) to wherever you do end up applying.

I’d take the SAT again to bring up the math. Other than that… you’re good to go. You should probably shoot for a perfect critical reading next time you take the SAT, considering it looks like it wouldn’t be much of a problem for you (I got a much lower writing score but an 800CR haha).

Assuming your math score goes to 730+

Carleton Vassar Reed - Low Match (as in less difficult to get into)
Emory Vanderbilt - Low Reach
UChicago - Reach

I would definitely consider Tufts, UPenn, Columbia, and Georgetown.

Chance me back?

Cool! Thanks a lot! I took the ACT and did equivalently the same as the Sat, but a higher percentage for math, so I may or may not retake the sat now (parents discourage…)

I don’t know too much about liberal arts colleges. But I think you’re probably a reach for UChicago and Vanderbilt just because these schools can be so unpredictable sometimes. And for Emory I’d say you are a match. Best of luck! Chance back!
