I would like to go into medicine in the future, but I don't want to major in a science during my undergrad years. So I was wondering if being undecided for my major affect my chances for admissions, especially for schools like Stanford?

Not at all- most students don’t really know what they want to study. And for medical school it is perfectly OK to major in a nonscience field- I’m a Cardiologist who majored in French.

usually the only effect “undecided” has is a positive one, if any

It depends on the school. Some schools admit by major or division; at these schools, it may be difficult to declare or switch to a more popular major or division.

Others do not consider major in admissions, and are wealthy enough to maintain enough reserve capacity in each major to avoid any major getting more students than the department can handle.

You have to check each school individually.
