I took the SATs in the 7th and 8th grade for "talent" search programs and scored in the 600s. In my freshman year, I took the ACT for practice and too see how I did compared to my scores on the SATs. My school requires that you take the PSAT as a sophomore, so I did. I also took the PSAT and the SAT for National Merit in my junior year, AND the ACTs because I score higher on it. So the junior SATs were for NM (which I was a finalist in...whohoo!), but I got a 35 on the ACTs. Thoughts? Will colleges see this negatively? Thanks.

no. [10 chars]

So you think they’ll understand, right?

Correct, I guess it may depend what college you apply to, but most colleges who say they look at your highest score, won’t ever even see that you took the SAT x number of times, and the colleges that look at all the scores will probably recognize if you took the SAT that young it was part of a talent search program or something similar.

Opinions will differ, but it’s nothing to get worked up about.

I don’t think those talent search tests can even be seen by the colleges. my impression is colleges don’t even care what you did before you entered high school.

SAT’s taken before high school will not show up on your CB report. ACT has score choice so you have to pay to send each score. Only a few colleges require ALL scores, so most won’t see your Frosh test. In any event, the 35 will stand out and adcoms will stop looking at test scores after they see it.
