Will Graduate School Accept Me? HELP!

I’m having a massive imposter syndrome attack and I need some perspective, please.

A background:

  • Undergrad (history) from top humanities school in India (we don’t have GPAs, but divisions. Barely scraped it but did get a first division)
  • postgrad (public policy) from top humanities school in India (with a 3.2GPA and kickass thesis)
  • published author (with a serious ‘industry rep’+bestseller lists)
  • weekly opinion column with large paper (under one of the best editors in India right now)
  • work ex of 1+ year with nonprofit leader in India
  • I run my own NGO incubated by UNDP+others
  • practice GRE scores: 320+ for quant+verbal

I have very little published research and quant capacity (most my college research was qualitative in nature)

I’m very very keen on a MPA-MBA dual and I have zilch idea of how I’ll do. Please give me some perspective!

What type of career are you looking for after grad school? Are you looking to stay in the US or India?

@sciencenerd I want to focus on China+APAC as burgeoning philanthropy markets and hopefully route more funding into indian value chains. This would involve a combination of indian+US/Europe outreach as I can see it.

It’s hard to say. I would recommend finding some sort of a converter tool to get a GPA estimate. Otherwise, the 3.2 isn’t going to do you any favors.

If you are applying in the US, you should have your academic records formally evaluated by WES.org That organization should be able to convert your grades to a scale more familiar to institutions here.
