Hi guys I'm new to this site and excuse me if i post this in the wrong sub forum so...
Onto the question, I am currently a sophomore in high school and I am hoping to get some input/advice in what I should do to get into a top college (Ivy League, Stanford, etc.) My high school doesn't really have that much AP classes, only the really basic courses. So I have AP Euro and PreAP English. I'm going to take Pre AP English and Pre AP Chemistry next year. I had a 3.95 unweighted last year and I currently have a 3.9. I'm on the Democrat Club (President), Environmental, CSF, Key Club, S (service) Club (President), and Debate Club. I'm doing alot of work for the Democratic Party this elections and I will do at least 50+ hours of community service/volunteer work this school year. I haven't taken the SATS yet but I think I'll do OK at least (2000-2100) or something like that. Considering I write an A- essay, will I be able to get in?
I'm a legal Filipino immigrant, so I will be applying as an international student (but I will graduate from a California high school.)
I already started working on some rough drafts of my application essay, and considering all the crap and obstacles I and my family had to go through just to be able to come to America, I have a pretty good story to tell the admissions officer so...
