I am finnishing my 3rd quarter in my sophomore year, and as of right now my current GPA is a 3.97. I have been planning my ACT and am predicted to get in a range of 28-30. I was wondering if I hold true to what my statistics are showing do I have a good change of getting into MIT. I am planning on majoring in Biology and doing Med School pre reqs. I am currently taking the hardest classes my school offers as I am taking also junior year classes too. What other colleges would accept me that have a good biology college. Thank you for everything.
You’re focusing more on the future than the now. Focus on your passions. Your GPA is awesome. Try to pull your ACT score up too as it’s low. However, do focus on the extracurriculars. MIT says that numbers are the least of their worries; they care about you being a leader. How will you contribute to MIT? It’s not all about grades, because people with 36s and 2400s have not been accepted to study at 77 Massachusetts Ave.
And yet all MIT buildings and departments/courses are numbered…
I do agree with @BeCambridge; focus on simply keeping your grades up, doing activities that you genuinely enjoy and finding ways to capitalize on that, and work on improving your ACT score (or take the SAT).
