Will I be revoked from CSULB?

I got in CSULB, and I graduated from high school with honors. But I got my report card, and I got a D in one of my elective classes. Will this effect my chances of staying in and attending CSULB? I already accepted my financial aid money and already signed up for CSULB's summer bridge program that I got in, but will this grade from my last semester of highschool effect me in anyway considering its an elective class?

Congratulations on graduating with honors, I’m sure that’s the first thing they’ll see when they review your transcript. That’s a huge plus, IMO.

My son is in the same boat as you are. What he did was he called the enrollment services number listed in the “final documents” email to notify them 562-985-5471. When he let them know that he was calling in a D grade they transferred him to someone who could bring up his admissions record, probably an Admissions Officer. The AO said it was a plus that it wasn’t in a required a-g course, but that they’d need to see if it dropped his GPA too much.

From there, my son asked questions…
Should summer class be taken, no was the answer.
Should he contact the dept of his intended major, no - only admissions makes rescission decisions was the answer.
How low of a GPA was too low - it depends on your high school was the answer.
When will the decision be made - after we audit your transcript was the answer.

Definitely call in as I don’t want you to assume anything. My son’s major is not impacted so maybe the answers would be different if your’s is. There is no need to be nervous; they were very professional and not frustrated or aggravated at all - not hurried or impatient or anything other than helpful. Ask all the questions you can think of.

You can check to see if they have your transcripts by logging into the portal or calling in to 562-985-2500. It took about 3 days for them to get his. Haven’t heard anything since so we assume it’ll take awhile before his gets reviewed. Definitely check your email a lot in case they request an explanation.

Good luck…try not to let the anxiety get to you.

You definitely need to call them. Don’t wait any longer! I hope everything works out.
