Will I be the only one from Pittsburgh (born and raised) at CMU in CS/sciences/Engineering?

After visiting, I feel a significant percentage of the students would have hesitation when asked “What city do you live in?” I feel like University of Pittsburgh is much more connected to the city. It seems like CMU students are in their own world in a way. I don’t know if it matters that much, but it’s nice to remain part of the community and I find it important.

It’s totally unreasonable to believe that you will be the “only” person from Pittsburgh at CMU. I am born and raised in Pittsburgh and so are lots of CMU students. Of course others like to explore the city as well.

Okay obviously I know I won’t be the “only” one and I never even said that. it’s just that I imagine only like 10% of people are from Pittsburgh whereas probably like 50% of people who go to Pitt are from Pittsburgh. It’s just a different feel if you know what I mean.

state school vs private school yes ur gunna get more instate

Actually i find quite a few Pittsburgh-born/raised people. I can think of at least 10 offhand? I dont think it would be awkward or in anyway an inconvenience?
