So I applied to USF in May. On June 1, they updated my student portal to say “Your undergraduate admissions application has been reviewed and a decision rendered. You will receive notification soon.” I called to see what kind of notification I would get (email, letter, etc.) and I was told that a letter would be sent to my current address, located 20 minutes away from the school. The guy read out the address to me so I know it was correct. I was told it was sent out on the 4th of June and that it should be there within 5-10 days. Well, it’s still not here! So I emailed the admissions office and asked what could be done. They said I should’ve received an email (which I never did, I checked my listed email and it was correct) and that my student portal should be updated (which it was not) but they would send a duplicate letter. I asked if they could resend the email or update my student portal and I was told basically no, I’d just have to wait for the new letter to come. I ended up calling later that day just because it sounded so weird that they couldn’t do either of these options. I was essentially told the same thing, that they couldn’t do anything. They also aren’t allowed to tell me if I was accepted or not over the phone, which I do understand. However, these three methods (letter, email, and student portal) were not used to communicate with me. Is it worth it to go to the college itself and just ask what my admissions status is in person since nobody will tell me? I just don’t know if the duplicate letter will show up or if they even sent the first one in the first place.
TLDR: My college won’t tell me if I’m accepted or denied. Should I go there and ask for an answer in person?
