I am very accepting of others but is Bama overly conservative?

Nah. You will most certainly notice a difference if you are from a large city but you shouldn’t feel out of place, especially on campus. We have a diverse campus of students with political and social views covering the whole spectrum.

awesome!..

It’s no Berkeley, but it’s a college campus nevertheless.

When I was at Bama, the school had an active GLB student group, and they even had an office in the student union. I also attended anti war rallies. The Women’s Studies courses offer a lot of exposure to Feminist theory. I could go on and on. It is mostly moderate to conservative, but UA has all types. Dont worry. You will make plenty of friends of all persuasions.

awesome thank you

UA was Obamaland during last year’s election, so I would say you’d have no problem going there.

The profs are not conservative (many are from Ivies or similar), and most of the kids are “middle of the road”…with the rest leaning left or right.
