I am looking at syracuse university and it is my #1 choice but i need a sholarship to go there. I have a 3.5 gpa and an 1800/2400 SAT. im very dedicated in my music program and school and plan to follow up on it in college. what are my chances at a scholarship

Do you mean purely merit or need based (with preferential packaging including mostly grants and scholarships, vs. loans)?
How much can your family afford?
With 3.5/1800, you’re right at the median for academics so you’re likely to get in. However you will not get a merit scholarship (you’d need to be top 25% or above - only 7% freshmen receive a purely merit scholarship, ie, without need). Your best bet is need-based aid, if you qualify: Syracuse meets about 96% need - if eligible, your parents would have to pay slightly more than their EFC.
Which other schools are you considering?
What do you like at Syracuse so that we can suggest schools like it, but a little less selective?
