That would make me an extreme minority then. Even more so because I didn’t even take pre-calc, I took College Algebra last year. I don’t think it really matters as long as your SAT Math score was solid, and mine was. I don’t have to take pre-calc or anything next year, I go straight into Calc A like most of my fellow biology majors.

My brother is taking pre-calc his senior year and he is not one of the “interesting kids.” Every high school is different. I have friends at TCNJ that thought it was absolutely absurd that we didn’t have physics until senior year or that we took biology before chemistry, but at my high school those were the norms. If calculus were a requirement for admission to the biology program it would be stated somewhere that you must complete the course in high school. As far as I know, the only bearing your high school math courses have is on what math course you will be placed in at TCNJ (should you get accepted and should your major have a math requirement). Whether or not you need to take pre-calc at TCNJ is determined based on your SAT scores and high school courses.

I was referring to my particular school. Most of the kids who graduate with just pre-calc are the kids with very low GPAs/SAT scores. I thought that was the norm in NJ, but I guess I was wrong. :p

if ur instate you’ll get in
