Will I get in trouble for omitting college coursework and applying to colleges as a freshman?

I went to college but then instead of transferring I applied to other colleges as a freshman and said that I had never completed any college coursework to try to get the maximum amount of scholarships. I did apply for financial aid at my previous institution and I now know that the colleges I applied to are going to find out that I attended college through the National Student Clearinghouse. Is this fraud? Am I going to get in trouble? Is my financial aid going to get revoked?

Yes, yes and yes.

You will be denied admission. Colleges can refer to a central database to prevent people from cheating their way in.

Am I going to get in legal trouble?

You can be arrested and charged with fraud, if you got federal grants or loans it would be a federal offense.

good god

Is this is actually going on, the wise choice right now would be for you to inform each college to which you have applied as a freshman that you are withdrawing your application for admission. You could then consider applying elsewhere as a transfer.

Withdraw your applications and start over with a new list.
