Will i get in?

I am a senior in high school in dallas. I want to apply to utd but im not sure if i can get in. Gpa:3.4 act:24 rank:37 percentile i took 7 ap classes and was in 5 clubs with about 100 service hours.

You’re not too far below the average, and you seem to be pretty involved. It doesn’t hurt to try - although I would write the optional essay. It might improve your chances. Good luck! :)

Apply, but if you heart is set on UTD, you may want to take the ACT again. Also are you 37 out of how many students or are you saying you are in the 37 percentile?

You could also be a match for the Academic Bridge program depending on Dallas ISD high school.

The Academic Bridge program (ABP) helps high-potential, first generation college students complete a college education. The program assists students with making the transition from high school to college through advising, mentoring, and tutoring.

ABP also helps students make the social adjustments to college life. ABP students participate in cultural awareness activities and community service projects. ABP students also are active on campus. They have served as campus leaders, established various organizations and volunteered at their high schools to recruit prospective ABP students.

ABP students have had the opportunity to receive scholarships or internships from major corporations such as AT&T, CISCO, and Ericsson, who are partners with UT Dallas.

The Academic Bridge program (ABP) is geared toward high performing students who didn’t receive a university-track curriculum. High school students who are selected for ABP begin their college career at UT Dallas during the summer following their high school graduation

How ABP Works
On the first day of the program during the summer, students take a math assessment test. Based on their scores, students are placed in either calculus, pre-calculus or college algebra. Orientation, registration and the distribution of books are completed the same day.

Students start attending classes the following day. All students take math, rhetoric and ABP seminar.

Students are grouped into three sections: calculus; pre-calculus; and college algebra.

Students attend classes Monday through Thursday. ABP conducts a weekly meeting each Friday, giving students an opportunity to discuss their experiences and allow the ABP staff to follow up on student progress, address issues or concerns and distribute the weekly stipend.

All ABP students are required to attend math tutoring every week. The math tutors meet with each student individually and hold weekly review sections.
