Suggest me if I can get into Skidmore or not?

Hi Goops! Keep in mind that Skidmore College is a very selective school, and even though ED has a higher acceptance rate, it is still very competitive.

I believe you need financial aid, yes? I would not recommend applying Early Decision in that case since you do not want to be bound to an unideal financial aid package that you may not be able to repeal. But yes; Skidmore does provide excellent aid to internationals, nonetheless.

Looking at your current stats, you have somewhat of a limited chance of being admitted. Their average SAT score, according to PrepScholar, is 1867 and your CR and WR scores are below their 25th percentile of acceptances. Furthermore, your TOEFL score is possibly a cause for rejection. Here (http://www.skidmore.edu/admissions/international/aid.php) they mention that a score of 96-97 is regarded as an indicator of MINIMAL proficiency to study at Skidmore.

You definitely need to retake the SAT and TOEFL. May I ask what your new scores were if you took the SAT and TOEFL again in November and/or December? Skidmore does not require Subject Tests but it is good that you have taken them. I would recommend retaking only the Math 2C subject test if you haven’t already (I hope you have signed up for the January test).

Your ECs are very interesting and being a CEO of a company will certainly help.

Keep in mind that I am not an expert nor know the workings of the admissions office at Skidmore. I myself applied to Skidmore College (it’s my top Liberal Arts & Sciences school) this year for Regular Admission (I was considering ED2 but changed my mind due to the need for aid). I really hope to see you at Skidmore! Good luck!

Good luck with your applications! My daughter applied ED2. She is not so patiently waiting for a decision.

So is my son. Too bad tomorrow is a holiday (never thought I’d say that) and we have to wait yet another day.

My son is a recent Skidmore grad and absolutely loved it. Great group of very bright kids. Good luck to all of you.

Ty @BobHolden. Nice to hear! My daughter loved every minute she spent on campus including an overnight. Loved the discussions and conversations she had there. Hoping for good news and soon or there will be a hole in the carpet where she is constantly pacing!

That’s great to hear, Bob Holden. Thanks for letting us know that.
