I have a 5.3 on a 5.5 scale (we do not have a 4.0 conversion).
I am president of student government and have been vice president, founder of Inner-club council, French club officer for two years, National Honor society and Yearbook editor.
I played varsity golf for 4 years and have been a state champion twice and state runner up.
I have also volunteered at the Special Olympics- First Tee for 3 years.
Also I have attended Duke University’s Young Writers program in the summer for 3 summers of high school.
My ACT is a 31 composite and 32 superscore and I applied as an English major.
Nobody can tell you if you will get in or not. There are dozens of factors which go into decisions and many of them are beyond our knowledge or control. You are certainly just as strong as the majority of Duke applicants, but with an RD acceptance rate of about 9% (and that number is likely to get lower- remember that Yale is about 7%, and Duke is ranked higher than half of the ivies) it is impossible to tell. Your best bet of seeing where you are at, relatively, is to look at threads of accepted students from RD class of 2020 and 2019 and to do anything you can between now and submitting your app to stand out or improve.
Good luck!
Your ACT is a bit low compared to some applicants but you’ve got good ECs and you have experience with their summer programs. Does Duke have a golf team you could be recruited for?
