I really do well in interviews, and I really would like to have one in my application for UPenn, I've looked and the Alumni interviewers for my region are all about an hour away. That'd be fine for me, I've driven farther for other interviews, I'm just wondering if I'll actually get to have one because of the distance? (I'm a RD candidate, obviously)

It really depends. Most do get called for interviews even with the distance but sometimes people do not. I went through the process just a few months ago and keep in mind, the interviewer told me that interviews aren’t really a big part of your application.

Thanks for the feedback, hopefully I luck out then. I just interview pretty well, and my application doesn’t have terribly much that stands out in it.

How did you find this out?

This. Don’t bank on the interview distinguishing you much. Rather focus on your essays. Although it’s probably too late for all that.
