As an accepted student in the class of 2020, I’m extremely intimidated by Reed. In a lot of ways, the classic Reed student is who I aspire to be: intellectually curious, hardworking, and gritty. But my time management skills are sloppy at best, and I got through high school with a lot of procrastination and not enough hard work. In short, as much as I love Reed and everything the institution stands for, I’m afraid I don’t have what it takes to be successful there.
So my question is: Even though I’m as undisciplined as an old potato, is there hope for me to develop the skills necessary to succeed at Reed while I’m there, or is it only possible to survive if I come to campus already equipped with strong study habits?
