I think you should take the SAT again, and if you get over a 2100, then send that score in along with the ACT score. Most places say they don’t have a preference, but honestly I sorta think they do. With that said, your ACT score is easily within their mid 50 percent rage. Also it depends on where you live, and what your SAT II scores are.

I disagree with anhtimmy. The 25% to 75% at Cornell is 29-33, 32 is well within range. No need to take again if the rest of your application is solid.

Your 32 is good imo. I do think you should try the SAT again and see if that can get up because it’ll look well-balanced for you. Regardless, a 32 on the ACT is very good!

If you did that well on the ACT in your first sitting, I think the maximum benefit could come from taking it again, and ignoring the SAT. My D went from 32 to 35 just by studying for a week, and opted not to retake the SAT, which started at about the equivalent of 32 (2100+). Plenty of kids get into excellent colleges without the SAT.

Some of the Cornell schools require SAT IIs. At this point, I believe that Cornell does not permit SAT score choice, so your entire SAT record would be sent with your SAT IIs. You should probably take it again, just to see if you can increase your SAT scores. The 32 is great (99th percentile) and colleges use the highest score provided, but still, since you may have to send the SAT IIs, I’d try the SATs again.
