I took the act, and got a 32..
But Cornell requires me to submit all tests, so I have to send them my 1990 (1340) SAT... will they look down upon this since it is so much less than my act, or will they sort of ignore it, and focus on my act?

No, some people test better on the ACT than the SAT, and vice versa. As long as you have one score you’re happy with, that’s fine. Your SAT isn’t THAT bad–it’s roughly 100 points short of your other score if you were to convert it.

Best of luck!

You don’t have to send your SAT. Despite the “send all tests” description, I called admissions last year and asked due to the same situation. They told me just sending ACTs and subject tests was fine. I actually called twice to make sure. It all worked out great. You might want to call admissions and ask also.

If I’m correct that (a) that’s 1340 out of 1600 and (b) you really mean you took it in the year 1990: that SAT score is about the same as your ACT score, because it’s pre-recentering. To adjust for the recentering accurately, you should do it separately for the math and verbal, but you’re going to wind up around 1400, which is about the same as 32 on the ACT.

I can’t imagine it would hurt you.

@Renomamma, and despite doing that, you still got accepted? Sorry, I’m just really worried

Yes, my daughter got accepted ED. I called admissions twice and talked to 2 different people to make sure. There was a CC thread about it last year as well.

The way it was explained to me was if you send ACT, you need to send all of them and if you send SAT you need to send all of them. Who knows if they’re saying that this year, but they did last year. Just call them tomorrow. I promise they won’t bite ;)

@Renomamma, alright, I’ll call tomorrow. Thanks so much
