I haven’t taken any APs until my senior year. But, on the Berkeley app, it did not allow you to list future AP exams. So I wrote it as I took it last year and predicted my score. But then I forgot to update them on this information.
If I inform them now will I get rescinded? Should I SIR another university instead?
Please help
Only UCB admissions can tell you what will happen. AP test scores are not considered for admission decisions so there was no reason to submit “predicted” scores. Now that you have self-reported these scores on your application, you do need to notify UCB and see what they say. They will note an discrepancies once they receive the official AP score report.
@Gumbymom
AP test scores are not considered for admissions? So, is it unlikely that they will rescind for AP exams right since it it were not considered. Since that means I was strong enough as an applicant myself to get in and I wasn’t getting a spot unfairly by claiming predicted AP scores.
Out of curiosity, why would you report it as being taken LAST year?
@anxiousenior1 On the UC app, you can’t report future APs.
You cannot report future AP test scores, but do self-report AP classes in progress or planned. I still think you should contact UCB just to make sure.
@Gumbymom
I will contact UCB. What should I write in my email?
Email them that you had mistakenly self-reported predicted AP exam scores since you have not taken these exams at time of the application. Just ask if this makes a difference on your acceptance and will it be an issue if your SIR.
@Gumbymom Alright, I will email them next week since its weekend right now and they aren’t open.
Do you think it will be an issue? How important are AP exams weighted during the admissions process? I was not accepted early, but accepted regular, but I was accepted straight into Fall instead of Spring and I wasn’t forced to take Summer Edge. So, there is a little wiggleroom between me and reject. Would you think that it would be big enough of a difference to revoke my admission? I self reported 5 AP exams that I would take this year, but this year is the first year I am taking APs.
