Will my admission to Amherst, Midd, et al be rescinded?

Overall GPA: 3.81 UW

This semester:

AP Comparative Government-B
French 6-A
Economics-A
TA-A

I really have a C- in statistics, but minuses and pluses aren't used in my school's grading system.

I would say they won’t rescind you over a C.

No. (10 char)

No. You are fine.

I agree with everyone else.

what if we got straight As, but now Bs

@talentle - I would not worry if I were you. Schools say that your offer of admission is contingent upon finishing the year at the same level you’ve already demonstrated, but I think it highly unlikely that you would be rescinded because of Bs. Colleges do know that second semester seniors tend to produce grades that aren’t necessarily reflective of their academic merits or potential - as long as your grades do not drop drastically you shouldn’t have anything to worry about.

This was told to me by an AdCom representer from one of the top 10 schools in the U.S.(summarized, not word for word). She said that it’s okay for grades to drop a BIT. She said as long as you don’t drop into the D/F category, you’re good. Now I know all schools are different but that pretty much sums it up. Now if you had all Cs maybe they would question their decision, but one C won’t kill you. Try to pick it up before June when they send in the Final Transcripts.

As other posters have said, you’re fine. D/Fs would be a concern, as would a medley of C’s, but I’d say you’re safe.
