Hi! I’m a rising senior and I actually took 4 AP tests in all. I’m not from US and AP courses are not offered in my school. So all the subjects are self-studied.
Here are my AP scores:
Macroeconomics-5
Microeconomics-5
Chem-4
Bio-3
I’m so worried about the 3 on bio…So would this hurt my admission? And would it be a better choice that I choose not sending AP scores? I really want to go to a Top20 school.
Thank you!
I am in same situation. I got a 3 on bio as well, going to be a junior next year.
no, AP scores don’t matter for admissions
What’s wrong with the schools that are not in top 20’s?
They are great as well, but I personally think that getting into top 20’s is more competitive, and they may focus more on AP scores . So I wrote that here. Correct me if I’m wrong.
I do think the AP scores matter to a point depending where you go but it matters very little. But students are definitely favored who took the tests than those that didn’t. I want to go to UW. La Crosse. I want to going into optometry or possible opthalmology but I considered having a big name school under my belt for my undergrad wasn’t terribly important. It’s still good it’s just not as big as other places. At La Crosse though I know that any AP helps. Not only does it help with admission but it also helps for better dorms and other things.
You can take it a second time. But for me…I don’t have the chance.
