Hello,
This year, senior year of high school, I was enrolled in three dual credit courses through a local college. I am now starting college elsewhere and am unsure if my credit will carry over. The college I am attendings handbook states only 6 hours graded “pass” will transfer over. However, I received A’s in all of these classes. Therefore, I would assume my hours to carry over, correct?
Also, if I am not mistaken, clep is graded as “pass”
Is this correct, because if so I will be limited to clepping only one more class prior to college.
I would call the admissions office and ask. At my daughter’s school, they will only accept certain classes and from certain accredited schools.
My son took two dual enrollment classes his senior year of high school and the university he now attends accepted those credits (the classes were ENG 101 and ENG 102). He had to have a transcript sent from the community college to his university. Policies will vary by school, however, so it would be best to call the school’s admissions office or registrar to get your answer.
You’ll have to check with the admissions office at your college.
There’s very likely a list of schools that will outright accept the credits.
If your college isn’t on that list, your guidance counselor may have a procedure in place for such an issue. The odds are overwhelming that it’s been tackled before, but you’ll need to get the wheels rolling.
If it is a State public college, it is likely that they will get credit. But don’t surprised if the college won’t tell you if you will get credit until you enroll.
