Will my political views affect my chances of being accepted to Georgetown?

^Exactly. Very little diversity.

Conservatives aren’t treated like absolute scum for the most part. In fact I would say that Georgetown is actually much better than the vast majority of schools at ensuring that there is bipartisan dialogue and that students with many different viewpoints have the chance to express their opinions. The last election definitely raised tensions and there are some students who may be ostracized because their viewpoints make others feel explicitly unsafe as I have seen happen a couple of times. The vast majority of conservatives though are treated much better at Georgetown than at other schools. We certainly have political diversity and though there is a liberal slant, there is a liberal slant at almost every college in the US. I would argue that @bsadasiva16 isn’t giving you really a balanced view of the political scene. And don’t worry, your political views are almost certainly going to have no effect on your admissions decision.

@MYOS1634 “swampy” referring, I think, to Trump’s campaign promise to “drain the swamp,” meaning the entrenched political and lobbying interests in DC; if you’re “swampy” you probably prefer the status quo

^ Yes and because Georgetown is a very political school overall (being in DC), the liberal slant is a lot more obvious- people tend to be more vocal about their political views and if your opinion does not comply with the popular opinion (aka democrat liberals), you are in for a tough time. I agree that the liberal slant is present at most universities. It is just a lot more eminent at GTown simply because it is such a political school.

The current political climate as a result of the election has resulted in more active participation on both sides of the aisle outside of college campuses. Of course undergraduate experiences are a launching pad for one to explore their beliefs and organize others with similar leanings. Examine your commitment to your political views. Then move forward and gather those that have similar views. It truly doesn’t matter the campus. Good luck

Theres two stances the admissions office could have. If they hate conservatives, then it could hurt you. If they don’t care, you are definitely diverse, which will help you in your chances of being accepted. I think it will not affect you at all.
