My gpa is a little low for the schools I want to apply to and I was wondering if my overall high school rigor of course will make up for my gpa of:

3.42 uw
3.91 w

I have taken all honors, 7 aps, and 2 duel enrollments. (5 ap classes this senior year.)

This year I will be taking
AP English
AP calc ab
AP art history
AP Bio
AP Gov

Will my strength of schedule compensate for my gpa in the schools im applying for which include:

U miami
U Michigan
UNC Chapel Hill
Ohio State University
Florida State
U of Florida

btw- I live in florida so it will be oos for every school except three.

First, can you afford all the OOS schools ($50K/year)? Second, when did 3.4 become poor? And yes, for most schools rigor makes up for grades.

Thank you, I have just been worried lately because I feel as if my gpa keeps me from being a strong applicant of these schools. Also we will be able to afford the oos state schools, being that my parents value education highly.

With these stats in mind and around an sat of 1300/1600 1900/2400, which of these schools would be considered reaches for me coming from florida?

evaluate my chances in my forum

*

Yes…Like many parents, your parents value education highly. But, just to be on the safe side, ask them if they’ll pay $50k per year for an OOS public. Many parents who treasure education won’t do that.

Just to be safe, ask them how much they’ll PAY.

If they say that paying $50k+ per year is fine, then be sure to get a strong SAT or ACT for schools like UMich or UNC
