I'm a bio major at unc chapel hill and so far I've been doing really well (my grades have been As, A-s, and Bts....However, this semester my grades dropped and I'm pretty sure I'm going to get a C or Ct in my molecular bio class. I was taking organic II at the same time and I think the added stress with that class impacted my grade. I ended up with a B in the orgo II class and an A in the orgo lab (I made an A in orgo I). How do you think this one C will impact my chances of getting into med school?
Thanks

It won’t - nor will 2 C’s, or 3…
I don’t know why this rumor keeps getting pushed by pre-meds, but seriously you’ll be fine with a few C’s on your transcript, don’t stress about it, just do better next time.

Of course, it HARMS you. And if you had 3 C’s you’d need a ton of A’s to outweigh it. But no, it won’t, by itself, keep you out of medical school.

You’ll be fine. And it’s better that you get the C/C+ in molecular bio than in orgo II. (Med schools are said to specifically look at what you get in org. chem.)

I’ll play devil’s advocate only slightly here, and say that while it won’t keep you out of medical school, DON’T GET ANYMORE! Or try not to. It won’t keep you from getting in, but it does affect it, don’t take it lightly. It definitely doesn’t look good and definitely WILL be noticed, as well as questioned.
