Will online school impact college admissions?

I’m a current high school freshman, and I’m planning on switching to online school next year. Will this have any impact on college acceptance?

No

It may, depending on the reputation of the online school. Some online schools have a reputation for being easier than the public school the student would otherwise attend. That is certainly the case with our public high school vs the online school available through our school district.

Assuming the school itself provides a similar education you should be fine. However, classes are just a piece (a big one) of the puzzle. Make sure you still get heavily involved in ECs. It may be harder to do that without actually being enrolled in a physical school, but there are many opportunities. And of course ECs don’t need to be school related. They can be in the form of volunteering, working, etc.
