Hey, I just learned that one of my teachers didn't put on enough postage for their recommendations, and I'm afraid that the "deferred mail" process will take too long for it meet the early decision deadline. Does anyone know if Penn will let their applicants know if their applications are incomplete or are they just going to toss the entire application aside?

Yes and its usually very very late. You wont believe this bit; my sat scores had not reached Penn for some reason and they told me on the 26th of march four days before the decision. They wrote me that my SAT scores were 'critical' to my admission and that I should fax them ASAP. I got in :P

For ED, I apparently was missing my SATII scores, and they emailed me about 2 weeks before decisions were due to be released. I had to fax them in (and I hadn't received the official score reports myself, so I ended up printing them off from the internet and getting my counselor to "verify" them) and Fedex-ed a hard copy as well.
