Will taking a major prerequisite after applying hurt chances? (UCLA and Berkeley)

Hey,

So I'm an economics major at a ccc and I haven't found a strong consensus on this issue. For Econ, I have to go up to Calc 2, but I'm most likely going to take that in spring 2014. so, the UCs I apply to for admittance in Fall 2014 will not see my calc 2 grade, but it'll still be done.(I'm aiming for ucla and Berkeley) Will taking calc 2 in the spring 2014 hurt me if I'm trying to get into UCLA and Berkeley for Fall 2014??

Thanks in advance!!

Good question, I’ve actually wondered this. I don’t think it affects you much though.

No, it will most likely not hurt you. I’m also an economics major - accepted to both UCB and UCLA. I’m taking Calculus 2 right now and I took Calculus 1 in winter. They didn’t see my grade for Calculus 1 either when they were evaluating my application.
