I was planning on taking chem 20A this fall but I really want to do the summer institute for a headstart. However, will the courseload in 14A prepare me enough for the MCAT (to score HIGH)? I don't want to miss out on the more in-depth aspects of 20series but is it really that big of a difference?

I don’t think it’d be that big of a difference. It seems to me that they are considered equivalent courses, except that one is for life science majors and the other is for physical science majors. [Although the physical one may be more in depth, I don’t think it’s going to prepare you more for the MCAT].
