I am Political Science major from a CCC, and thinking of taking precalc and a stats class next semester to fulfill my math courses for the IGETC.
I was wondering if admissions officers look at precalc as a sign of low quantitative ability, and thus a weak applicant. I’m a Poli sci major and the only math course I need for major pre-req is Stats.
I never took precalc. No you will not look weak. Taking it when you don’t need it will show you’re up for the challenge and perhaps want to go further in math. They will like that.
@OnePunchMan if precalc is not a major requirement. Don’t take it, it was harder than Calc 1 and 2 for me.
There will be some people who will be good at precalc, but it was not me. I struggle a lot with precalc, but Calc 1 and Calc 2 turns out pretty easy for me.
