Will the personnel market for electrical engineering be saturated in next few years??

Hi, I gonna to study Electrical engineering in U of Minnesota, and I am surprised that so many people now are studying that. However, I have a question: Will the personnel market for electrical engineering be saturated in the next several years?? Could anyone familiar with Electrical engineering answer that?? thanks

It’s very possible. It’s also hard to predict the future because economics is so damn hard to predict.

Engineering enrollment has increased over the past few years. However, most professors I have spoken to regarding the enrollment increases have also noted the decline in quality of the students…

In my eyes, a very natural outgrowth of increased enrollment.

More enrollment is both good and bad. More competition, but supply creates its own demand.

The number of EE bachelors degrees granted has been on a steady decline since the end of the dot-com boom, which was itself only a small departure from a general downward trend since the mid-80s.

On the other hand, masters degrees have become significantly more common, possibly as foreign nationals enter the field.
