I was deferred from Wesleyan, and am a super liberal feminist, pescetarian, humanist. I really want to know if there is a sub-culture of people I could chill with. I where birks, plaid, leggings, tye dye and black. I really know its superficial, but I need to know that I won't be the black-sheep so to speak in this respect. Also I want to major in international relations and minor in Chinese. Could this possibly be a fit for me? I like their academic programs, internship, and sexual assault prevention group. What should I know?

As a Conn parent, I can attest you won’t have any problem finding like minded people. It’s not Bard when it comes to hipster culture, but you’ll be fine.

I don’t know much about Chinese but the web site says it was one of the first colleges to establish a Chinese department, in 1965. There are relationships with Chinese colleges for study abroad. And anecdotally, my kid has had Chinese students as dorm neighbors.

There’s a strong international program otherwise: http://www.conncoll.edu/academic-centers/cisla/
