I achieved a 3.7 GPA this year which I am not proud of. I did finish my fourth quarter with a 4.0 however. Will top colleges forgive my freshman year?
A 3.7 is nothing to forgive, relax! Since you’re clearly capable of straight A’s, get them from now on and your cumulative GPA will be perfectly fine for top colleges.
Pretty much what bodangles said. Keep up the straight As and you’ll be fine.
Yes, you are not doomed. These colleges are looking at you as a person, not only your GPA.
If by “you’ll be fine” you mean “you’ll get into Harvard” I disagree. OP will Probably have the same 5% chance as most applicants.
Nobody said “You’ll get into Harvard.”
OP has chosen to post, and has been answered, in the Harvard University forum.
So? Nobody said that OP would get in. I have no idea why someone would take “You’ll be fine” to mean “You will absolutely, 100%, no question be accepted into one of the most selective universities in the United States.”
I’d interpret it more like “A 3.7 plus all A’s from now on will not drop your average chances to zero.”
