Will they waste a thick envelope on me??? If not, who would??

Was wondering if anyone would care to chance me on the following list of schools, and perhaps suggest some other options. I am trying to create a list of places to visit this summer....

My stats...

GPA - 98.7 Weighted, not sure unweighted, though all grades are As/A-'s
H.S. Junior
SAT I - CR 670, Math 700, Writing 780
SAT II - Math I 740, Bio 690, World History 690, (will take lit/US history)

Female/Caucasian/Middle Class
Attend private all-girls in NY
Ranked in top 1-5%, won’t know until Sept ’07

Classes:
**Entered HS w/ credits based on accelerated middle school program. This would, under normal circumstances, be beneficial—however—due to the strict scheduling and general small size of my school, I was occasionally forced to take non-honors courses, though they were with the grade subsequent to my own. I have taken/registered for all A.P classes offered by school (other than Spanish, due to Latin track) and highest level of language.

9th: Honors English II, Honors Global I, Geometry Honors, Latin I, Biology, Communications, Freshman Computing, Religion I, Phys.EdI

10th: Honors English II, Honors Global II, Algebra II, Latin II, Chemistry Honors, Art Portfolio, Religion II, Phys.EdII

11th: Honors English III, AP U.S.History, Pre-Calculus, Latin III, Physics, Web Design, Religion III, Phys.EdIII

12th (will take): A.P Literature, Govt/Econ, A.P Calculus, A.P Biology, Web Design II, Religion IV, Phys.EdIV

Co-Curricular:
Student Council- Freshman VP, Sophomore Exec. Board President, Junior Exec. Board President, just elected “Big Four” StuCo Secretary, headed various committees/instituted Co-Curricular Management Program/part of Global Outreach Committee

Asian Club- Member (9), Secretary (10), President (11)

Newspaper- Reporter (9), Soph.Editor (10), Features Editor (11-12)

Book Club- Member (9), President (10-12)

Political Round Table- Member (9-10), VP (11), Pres. (12)

Senior Run Team (Visit Senior Citizens)- (9-12)

Student Recruitment Team/Peer Mentor (9-12)

Guidance Center Intern (10), Campus Ministry Intern (11)

Honors List since 9th grade, received Congressional Women in History Award, Gold Medals in a variety of subjects for highest average (including subjects taken in advanced grade level), won/participated in various essay contests, Kodak Leadership Award, among others that I don’t think are pertinent to a chances thread =]

Possible National Merit Scholarship semi finalist - will know for sure in Fall of 2007

Major: Some combination of Political Science/Statistics or Quantitative Reasoning—maybe major/minor, or double major

Current College List:
Wesleyan
Barnard
Swarthmore
Vassar
Lehigh
Lafayette
NYU
Fordham
CUNY Honors College @ Hunter

I probably want to remain in the Northeast/Middle States...school of 2000-6000 students, liberal arts or otherwise broad-based curriculum, without too many academic requirements and restrictions (I know that some of the schools above are larger...but I like NYU and Hunter for other reasons, so I could probably contend with the size). No religious preferences, probably not too much of a religious-based school, however.

You should get admitted to most of the schools on your list. Swarthmore is probably the toughest from that list, and maybe Wesleyan.

Wesleyan- HIGH MATCH
Barnard- MID-HIGH MATCH
Swarthmore- REACH
Vassar- HIGH MATCH- LOW REACH
Lehigh- MATCH
Lafayette- LIKELY
NYU- MATCH

Chance me please

I'd say that Barnard and Wesleyan were both high matches/low reaches because they have writing intensive apps (Barnard has like 4 UChicago-esque essays) and Wesleyan wants weird, intellectual kids, so your application is a lot more about you than it is about your numbers.

I think you'll almost definitely get in everywhere else on your list (with the exception of Swarthmore, which is a reach).

I'd say you have an excellent chance at all of those schools! Way to keep up the good work! Good Luck!

I'd say you look like a competitive candidate for most of the schools you've listed... your GPA and your ECs in particular are impressive. Because you're coming from an over-represented state (New York) and population (white female at a private school), however, your SAT scores will be on the low side of the pool that you're compared to at Swarthmore in particular (I applied there this past year ED and got rejected with a 680/710/710 and SAT II scores of 750/720/720).

Ratings on a scale of: high reach, reach, semi-reach, good fit, likely, safety.

Wesleyan University... SEMI-REACH.
Barnard College... SEMI-REACH.
Swarthmore College... REACH.
Vassar College... SEMI-REACH.
Lehigh University... GOOD FIT.
Lafayette College... LIKELY.
New York University... GOOD FIT.
Fordham University... SAFETY.
CUNY Honors College @ Hunter... I'm not as educated about the Honors Program so can't give you an estimate on that, sorry.

Also, some other suggestions (I'm not sure if you wanted them, but you put down preferences of colleges that you were looking for so I thought I'd post them):

REACH: Middlebury College (VT)
SEMI-REACH: Carnegie Mellon University (PA), Johns Hopkins University (MD), Tufts University (MA), Wellesley College (MA)
GOOD FIT: Bucknell University (PA), Colgate University (NY), Mount Holyoke College (MA), Trinity College (CT), University of Rochester (NY)
LIKELY: American University (DC), Dickinson College (PA), Gettysburg College (PA), Skidmore College (NY), Smith College (MA),

Come to Barnard! :D

Wesleyan LOW REACH/HIGH MATCH [not so much a reach]
Barnard MATCH
Swarthmore REACH
Vassar HIGH MATCH
Lehigh MATCH
Lafayette ???MATCH???
NYU MATCH
Fordham LOW MATCH/SAFETY
CUNY Honors College @ Hunter ???SAFETY???

I put ??? next to universities I am not familiar with.

thanks for advice everyone, i really appreciate your consideration!
