I had my Harvard interview a few weeks ago, and when the interviewer asked me where else I’ve applied, I told him I was accepted at Princeton. I’m just now realizing that was probably a huge mistake… Will Harvard be less likely to take someone who already got into a different school early action? I told him Harvard was my first choice, but do you think he will mention Princeton acceptance to the admissions committee?
Well the fact that you were accepted to Princeton, and are still looking at other colleges says something: You clearly have interest in Harvard. These schools are well aware of the fact that you are most likely applying to many other top notch schools. I wouldn’t worry about it.
Harvard may be happy to poach you, but we don’t know that.
There’s no way to know, but it might look good if you made it clear that Harvard is still your first choice even though you got accepted to Princeton.
