WILL THIS SCHEDULE BE TOO HARD?

Hello, I’m currently at a community college taking all my Mechanical Engineering prerequisites (Calc 1-3, Differential Equations, Calc Based Physic’s 1&2, ect…) and I’m doing well in all my classes (3.95 GPA). I’m going to transfer to FAU during the summer 2017 semester and I plan on taking:

Computer Apps in Eng (EGN2213)
Engineering Graphics (EGN1111C)
Prob & Stats Analysis (STA4032)
Statics (EGN3311)
Thermodynamics (EGN3343)

I heard that Statics and Thermodynamics are hard “weed out” classes. I plan on cutting my hours back at my job to 15-20 hours a week, so I’ll have more time to study. I’m trying to maintain my high GPA do you think it’s wise for me to take this many high level classes in one semester? Did you take this many class while pursuing your degree? Any advise is appreciated!

That looks like a pretty standard semester to me, though I have no idea what that “Computer Apps” class is.

The course description says that “Computer Apps” is an introduction to programming in MATLAB. I’m not sure what Matlab is but they say I’m required to take this course.

Matlab is a programming language/IDE that can be used to perform numerical calculations and many other things. It’s quite useful.
