Will UCLA and UC Berkeley financial aid be the same?

<p>I was accepted to UCLA as an OOS yesterday, which would be great, except I got $0 in grants and $5500 in federal loans. I simply can't ask my parents to cover the cost and I'm not comfortable taking that much in loans. My EFC is about $35k, but my dad has an illness that means we need a larger than normal emergency fund. </p>

<p>Any way, my real question is -- are UCLA and UC Berkeley the same as far as what you'll get for financial aid? Or does it depend? I'm just wondering if I should rule UC Berkeley out or if there's still a shot for it.</p>

<p>Generally, about the same. Was for me at least. You can wait and see I guess (and you got into LA which is a good indication that you’ll get into Berkeley).</p>
