I had a pretty rigorous course load this year so I was planning on taking it a little easier next year (but not too easy since I’m going to take AP Bio and AP Lit as well). Plus, I’m not planning on majoring in a science or math (probably going to major in the humanities field) so I was thinking that it wasn’t too necessary for me to take AP Calc BC next year and to instead take it in college. But will universities become skeptical and negatively look at this decision during college admissions? Thanks for the help!
Do you expect to take more math (or calculus-based statistics) in college? If so, then calculus BC may be more useful.
Is philosophy one of your possible majors? If so, then more rigorous math may help practice logical thinking, particularly if there is more emphasis on proofs (though this is often not the case in calculus courses).
If neither of the above, then statistics may be more useful for general knowledge, although you may want to consider a calculus-based statistics course in college for a somewhat stronger understanding.
