Will you help me plan my last 2 years of high school?

Hey Guys! I'm a sophmore right now. (And I might as well join the bandwagon with these kind of posts...) What do you think I should do my junior/senior years of high school??
I currently go to a pretty competitive school, it's #20 (used to be #9 two years ago) in the nation. And thank god, we do not have class rank, or else I'd probably be on the bottom.

I'm taking 4 APs next year; planning on taking 9 for my high school career. Currently I have a 3.6 unweighted GPA. (BTW our GPA system is the same as most colleges)

SAT Score: 1820 (Yes...haha, I know, I definetly need to work on that.)

My Extracurriculars:
**TENNIS! I love tennis! (#1 player Freshman and Sophmore years. Fresh: MVP. I've made it to the state tournament, regional tournament and was conference champion my sophmore year. I've got about 4 medals from high school tennis...so far...haha jk)

**Key Club: I was voted onto the board for my sophomore year, but I transferred to a different school. I was voted to be treasurer my junior year.

**Chorus: I'm going to Governor's school this summer (6 week camp funded by the government, so it's free). I went to All-State this year. My 8th grade year I got into Middle School State Honors Chorus, so I'm aiming to get into that my junior year. (Fingers crossed?)

I'm in National Chinese Honor's Society, Tri-M (Kind of a musicians honor's society), Social Justice Club, Student Legislative Assembly (applying to be a co-chair next year), Science Olympiad (Part of the regional champion team) and A Capella club.

The ones with the ** are my fav. extracurriculars.

Thank you so much if you read all of that! Help/feedback would be much appreciated! So what do you guys think I should do my junior and senior year? I'm thinking of going deep with tennis, key club, chorus, SLA and mock trial (i'll probably join that next year.) If you can tell, I'd like to be a lawyer, journalist, pediatrician, with a minor in Chinese.

And if you would like more information about me...(hmmm....:D hah, jk) I'm probably applying to: Yale, Cornell, Duke, John Hopkins, UChicago, Davidson, Stanford and NC State (my backup) and Elon (my really really backup)

Take the hardest classes you can perform highly in.

Standardized testing can kick your butt, or you can kick its butt.

Expand your ECs and maintain the same level of commitment as before.

Get to know MANY teachers well. Do well in their classes, try and learn from them on different levels. (ie. killer recs)

Be involved in your community! (possible EC here!)

Look over the essay/writing tasks on the application. Think, but don’t overthink, about what you would respond with.

Maintain a healthy social life. No one likes a burnout.

Absolutely not  enjoy life while you can! As you’ve probably seen on CC, there’s no such thing as a perfect app or a formula for getting in. The only sure thing is that you should enjoy what you do. In response to your question, what should I do my jr and sr year? You should do what you like. If you have a genuine deep-seated interest in all five of the listed activities, go for it - but remember that your personality and passion need to come through in your app.

Good luck and see you on CC in at least a year and a half :).

relax… college isn’t THAT hard to get into. you’ll do fine. Do what you want to do (what makes you happy) and not what people on this board tell you to do.

I kind of thought I was behind the curb…most people I know do more extracurriculars than me or have better grades…

Thanks for your input! I’ll probably be on CC very infrequently. This is my first day on anyways!

^ The bit about having fun is what I was going for in my last line.

Really. Don’t stress. (too much)

I don’t know… I think I’m disillusioned with how hard I worked in high school. Was it really worth it? Maybe this is a bad time to ask people on this board b/c we’re all waiting for our decisions tomorrow and have too much nervous energy/manic depression. :-)

She was a manic depressive. Which was impressive.

snickers

Yeah, I’m waiting to hear from a school for juniors and seniors and I incredibly nervous. If you go there, you get a free ride to any public school in the state!

So if I get into that school, I won’t really worry as much anymore.
Plus other classmates make it seem like college is impossible to get into, especially Ivy Leagues.

I wish I had done what you did

You will be fine, I promise you

No. Do it yourself, that’s…the point. Otherwise it’s not your last two years, and when it comes around to college admissions, they won’t see you. They’ll see a perfected robot.
