I don’t have a pony in this race yet (my DS will apply RD, and it’s a reach); we will likely be in this spot in a few months. Hope you get some better news this month from other schools!

Sorry. I know you can’t see it now, but I promise it is all perfect for your unfoldment. You will look back and say “I am better for this experience” - whether you transfer into W&M or you find that perfect place for YOU! My son was deferred tonight - it all happens in perfect timing (sorry to sound hokey)

Congratulations to those of you who received good news today. My daughter is a W&M freshman and is very, very happy there. Great classes, wonderful new friends, and fun activities.
D19 is going to W&M! So happy for her and for all of her future classmates!
Also, we’re very aware of how much it would have hurt if she hadn’t gotten in. So hugs to those who didn’t get what they hoped foinr today. Give yourself lots of TLC, and surround yourself with comforting people until you’re ready to move forward to what I’m sure will be a big, bright, beautiful future!
My son was just deferred ED. He’s a bit heartbroken. Do people actually get in after being deferred, or is the dream over?
I was deferred too, was my absolute dream school. Spent maybe 4 hours sobbing. I know my stats weren’t great, but my situation made that happen and I was hoping the admissions committee would see that. I hope that they will admit me in april, and i’m sure that everything will work out. NOVA is very competitive and even if the chances of getting in after getting deferred aren’t great, things happen for a reason. We’ll get through this (hopefully)
A defer is NOT a ‘no’. Continue to update your application—send in a letter of continued interest, send grades and activity/award updates, etc.
