Williams does well!!

The swim teams, esp the women are having an amazing meet at the NCAA DIII championships-- tonight they swept all of the events including the relay-- they presently are second over all with two days to go--but the next two days are going to be tougher for them. The men are also having a good meet as well. It is so exciting to see Williams, academically much more rigorous and smaller than many of the other DIII schools, doing so well.

It's not just sports either-- Williams was the top LAC in the most prestigious math competition in the nation, the Putnam prize. They came in 10th out of almost 600 colleges and universities and they beat out all of the Ivy League (except for Harvard).

Go Ephs!

Just what they need-more applicants…They are doing fabulous, kudos to the ephs…The NESCAC meet was totally dominated by their team and it’s good to see they’re still excellent on a bigger stage.

Etondad, do you have a reference for Williams success with the Putnam award? I can’t find it anywhere and I am promoting Williams to a parent with a kid who wants to major in Math. Want to send them a link.

It is on the front page of the Williams website. The math department continually wins national awards for best teachers of mathematics.

Great! Forwarding that info right away. I find that friends with STEM oriented kids seem less enthusiastic about LAC’s so this is pretty powerful.
